A Family-Run Adventure in the Whitsundays

Welcome to ZigZag Whitsundays, a family-owned and operated tour company based in Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia.

Established in 2017 by Nicole Rosser and Ben Marsh, we are passionate about delivering unforgettable experiences in the heart of the Whitsundays.

Our Story

Nicole Rosser, a marine scientist and tourism operator, founded ZigZag Whitsundays to create a tour company that combines exceptional guest experiences with a strong focus on marine conservation. A lifelong ocean lover with a BSc (Hons) in Marine Biology from James Cook University, Nicole is driven by her passion for the ocean and a commitment to protecting the Great Barrier Reef.

Nicole’s career has taken her from research labs to the decks of tour vessels, blending scientific expertise with hands-on tourism experience. Her deep connection to the ocean and determination to “leave the world a little better” are the heart of ZigZag Whitsundays. She actively leads conservation efforts through projects like the Boats4Coral Program, Eye on the Reef, and Reef Islands Initiative. She works alongside Traditional Owners, marine researchers, and organisations like the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.

Ben Marsh, co-owner and diesel engineer, brings a wealth of technical and business expertise to the team. His behind-the-scenes role ensures that ZigZag Whitsundays operates with precision, reliability, and safety, providing guests with a seamless adventure experience.

Our Mission

At ZigZag Whitsundays, our mission is simple: Deliver unforgettable experiences while protecting and preserving the Great Barrier Reef. We believe experiencing the reef firsthand inspires people to care about its future. We aim to foster a lasting connection between our guests and the ocean through interactive tours, environmental education, and hands-on conservation projects.

Our Team

Our Commitment to Conservation

Environmental stewardship is central to what we do. We provide our vessel and crew to support essential marine conservation programs, including:

Boats4Coral Program – Supporting coral restoration by assisting researchers in growing and transplanting coral larvae.

Eye on the Reef – Conducting regular reef monitoring surveys.

Reef Islands Initiative – Partnering in seagrass restoration to create critical habitats for marine life.

Nicole also works as a research assistant at Central Queensland University’s Seagrass Nursery, where she ensures that marine ecosystems continue to thrive through restoration projects. She is pursuing her Master of Environmental Management at the University of Queensland, further strengthening the link between marine science and tourism.

Super Flyer — Your Floating Day Resort

Originally named Susie O’Neill

Not your typical Whitsundays day boat. Most tours operate on open rafts or rigid inflatables with bench seating, no shade, and no or small, limited toilets. Super Flyer is a fully equipped 80-passenger catamaran built for comfort at speed.

Our 80-passenger catamaran was purpose-built for comfort at speed. Inside, you will find a spacious air-conditioned cabin with group seating at tables for between 4 and 6 guests. Outside, two sun lounge decks; the top deck is adults only. There’s a licensed bar, coffee machine and two large bathrooms on board.

Super Flyer cruises at 24 knots with advanced navigation and radar for safe, smooth passage through the Whitsunday Islands. Our unlimited on-demand water taxi runs between the catamaran and Whitehaven Beach all day.
